AREA OF INTERVENTION/PROJECTS

WOMEN RIGHTS TO LAND PROJECT- The women rights to land project seeks to advocate for vulnerable women who are widows and family members could not let them have access to their husband’s properties especially the land on which they will farm to survive with their children

CITIZENS AWARENESS ON CORRUPTION PROJECT – This project seeks to raise awareness on corruption and social accountability issues affecting the vulnerable in local communities.

COMMUNITY LIVELIHOOD SUPPORT PROJECT – The project cater to involve women and youth into livelihood agricultural activities that will bring economic value to them.

CHILD RIGHTS TO EDUCATION PROJECT – The project promote access to good quality public education for vulnerable children. Education we believe provides marginalized people with a ‘virtual’ income, which boosts opportunities, and increases the livelihood of social mobility, engage community actors, and connect schools with government for approval. The project advocate for vulnerable children in the society to access quality education, train them on their rights and responsibilities and

OUR PREVIOUS ACTIVITIES AND DONORS

Monitoring of school fee subsidies on 2018-2019 Development Plan  With support from the Ministry Of Basic and Senior Secondary School Education (MBSSE)) – The MBSSE and PaNBA S/L have worked closely to achieve high-quality education. A pilot phase project was launched in four districts: Bombali, Kono, Karenna and Koinadugu. This pilot project was very successful, wherein public school administrators and teachers were actively monitored to ensure the proper use of school subsidies and to oversee the school development plans. Upon completion of these exercises, many important issues were identified, ranging from improper use of government subsidies and poor state of school buildings and classrooms, poor state of water and sanitation in public schools, which were reported to the Ministry of education for prompt action.

Grant support monitoring  2020  (with funds from UNICEF Sierra Leone) – UNICEF Sierra Leone is a child-centered organization which works on different projects in Sierra Leone. PaNBA S/L was contracted to conduct independent monitoring of COVID-19 grant support given to vulnerable women, whose income was negatively impacted by the pandemic.

MONITORING 2020-2022:   With funds from individual members and advisory board members, the organization has implemented projects on public examination malpractice. Another project, ‘Show Corruption a Red Card’ targeted community leaders, youth and school children to raise awareness on the negative effects of corruption to national development. It is observed by PaNBA S/L that eroded ethics among public servants is the main root of corruption and partly responsible for the lack of transparency and accountability.
