BACKGROUND

Pay No Bribe Animators Sierra Leone is a non-political, non- tribal and non-racial organization but a social accountability, anti-corruption and development and advocacy civil society organization establish to address issues relating to corruption, which we believe is an endless and deadly battle but a fundamental tool for enhancing democracy, good governance and promotes the values of transparency and accountability in private and public institutions.
The organization was established on the 20th November 2018 by citizens who worked as community Animators in the three year Pay No Bribe campaign project funded by DFID and implemented by Anticorruption Commission and it partners, with the focus to raise awareness on social issues affecting our democratic values across Sierra Leone.
Our legal status- In fulfillment of the statutory obligations by the Government of Sierra Leone, the Pay No Bribe Animators Sierra Leone is located at 8 Pealus Street-Makeni City, Bombali District and 86 Kainkordu Road.
PaNBA S/L is registered with the Ministry of Local Government through Makeni City Council,
Kono District Council, Ministry of Social Welfare.

    OUR POLICIES

    Anti-Corruption and fraud Prevention Policy- PaNBA has an Anti-Corruption Policy in place to prevent corruption and fraud with development funds.
    Child Protection Policy-All children have equal rights to protection from abuse and exploitation. The situation of all children must be improved through promotion of their rights as set out in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. This includes the right to freedom from abuse and exploitation.
    Financial Policy- Financial management foster stable financial management system, ensure that funds and other resources are being used in an accountable and correct manner.
    Human Resource policy- This is a guideline on the approach of which our organization intends to managing its people.

    OUR OBJECTIVES

  • Strengthen Public education on bribery and corruption in the community, schools, health centers, universities
  • Strengthen Accountability and Transparency in public service delivery in government agencies, Local Councils and other public institutions.
  • Minimized sextortion in government/public and private offices through effective advocacy campaigns. Sextortion is a form of corruption that undermines gender equity and equality on the labour force.
  • Strengthen research and awareness raising on social issues affecting local communities.
  • Improved monitoring of schools as a means of support to the government’s free quality education program.
  • Create an advocacy platform to address issues relating to land corruption in local communities.
  • Undertake and implement development projects that improve the socio-economic status of our people.

  • PaNBA S/L core mandate is to promote community accountability, transparency, good governance, community advocacy on service delivery.
  • Our Mission and Vision advocate for equitable distribution of national resources and enhance effective service delivery in government and private institutions. Our approach over the years has been engagement with local and national authorities to influence decision in law-making towards accountability which we believe supports the fight against corruption and promotes our democratic values
  • AREA OF INTERVENTION/PROJECTS

  • WOMEN RIGHTS TO LAND PROJECT- The women rights to land project seeks to advocate for vulnerable women who are widows and family members could not let them have access to their husband’s properties especially the land on which they will farm to survive with their children.

  • CITIZENS AWARENESS ON CORRUPTION PROJECT – This project seeks to raise awareness on corruption and social accountability issues affecting the vulnerable in local communities.

  • COMMUNITY LIVELIHOOD SUPPORT PROJECT – The project cater to involve women and youth into livelihood agricultural activities that will bring economic value to them

  • CHILD RIGHTS TO EDUCATION PROJECT – The project promote access to good quality public education for vulnerable children.
    Education we believe provides marginalized people with a ‘virtual’ income, which boosts opportunities, and increases the livelihood of social mobility, engage community actors, and connect schools with government for approval. The project advocate for vulnerable children in the society to access quality education, train them on their rights and responsibilities and provide support for them in their educational pursuit.

    Meet the Creative Humans behind the Scenes


    PaNBA has a total of 11 Advisory Board members including the board chairman.
    They advice the administration on project implementations and work closely with donor partners.
    The board meets on quarterly basis to discuss the affairs and development of the organization.

    Pay No Bribe Animators Sierra Leone has a total of 25 functional staff including community volunteers as a gender sensitive organization, Pay No Bribe Sierra Leone has increased female representation in the administration.
    At PaNBA female staff play critical role in the programmatic and administrative functioning of the office.
    In summary PaNBA has 15 program staff and 10 volunteers and majority of our staff and volunteers are female.
